Based on means "USED", communication can be categorized as follows:-

Verbal Communication:-     
                    

                    It happens with the help of sounds, words, and language. The different languages spoken all over the world have been originated from many sounds and gestures. Speaking, which is an effective way of communication has been included in verbal communication. Spoken communication is broadly divided into two types - Interpersonal communication and Public Speaking.
       Interpersonal communication occurs between two or more people generally at a personal level. On the other hand, public speaking involves a single speaker and many audiences.

Public Speaking:-     

              Public speaking addresses a common message about a service or product or for a set of people. In this type of communication, preparation and rehearsal become significant for a speaker before speaking anything because in public speaking a speaker needs a great deal of confidence. Another important cause for preparing in advance is that the speaker may not always be conscious of the expectations of audiences. 
  
                                                 

                                                                                  
                                                                                Therefore, the speaker should prepare the possible questions asked by the audience and be ready to answer them. The subject-matter of the speech should be authentic and elevating about the selected topic for public speaking. All the basic points in the speech should be highlighted and delivered in an accurate order and manner. In the present time, there are many public speaking methods and techniques that can be practiced and mastered for an effective speech.


Nonverbal Communications:-    

                       This type of communication refers to various characteristics, such as tone of voice (inflections), smell, touch, and body movement. Symbols and sign languages that do not require words to be conveyed may be included in this type of communication. For example, a finger on lips is a sign of telling the other person to keep quiet.

Written Communication:-    

 

                    It includes the use of e-mails, reports, articles, and memos. It can be used in various languages depending on the location. The written documents require to be edited some times before it is sent to the desired person of the organization. For informal communication written communication can also be used for instance, mobile SMS.

Visual communication:-     

                   It refers to the visual display of information, like pictures, formats, signs, symbols, codes, and designs. For example, television, DVDs, CDs, and other audiovisual aids of communication represent visual communication.
